Application for Clothes Washer and Dryer
The Board of Managers has approved the installation of clothes washers and dryers with prerequisites. There are stringent rules to follow and an annual fee of $100.00 to offset the cost of water and gas usage.
This is a large step the Board of Managers has taken to improve the life style and investment in Dillon Valley East (DVE). DVE was not designed to have washers and dryers, so we had to reverse engineer the installation of these appliances and came up with a set of guidelines.
The process of installing clothes washers and dryers is not merely purchasing the appliances and installing them. Electrical inspections, plumbing inspections, and inspection by our property manager are required. Our property management will come in and clean out the drain line to insure you start with a satisfactory drain situation.
Clothes washers and dryers previously installed without inspection and approval will not be grandfathered. If you have a washer/dryer, you must apply for installation and follow through with inspections and pay an annual fee for utilities. We will not inspect units for existing washer/dryers. But if you are caught, you may face an fine of $50.00 and a fine of $100.00 per week.
As many are aware, in close living conditions you are able to hear your neighbor quit well. So it makes common sense not to run your appliances during quiet hours (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) and not before most tenants have been able to shower in the morning. It would be courteous to meet your neighbors and find out if they work odd hours and schedule your use of appliances around those hours.
Studio units are not included in the application because there is insufficient room in the units for a washer/dryer.
Owners of units with washers/dryers are responsible for all damages caused by the appliances no matter who uses them.
